Transfer Rumors: Petric, Trochowski

By: Steven | May 31st, 2007

dollIn the search for a “number 10″ in the midfield, Dortmund are looking to FC Basel’s Mladen Petric. Rumor has it that the Schwatzengelben will shell out €3.5million for Petric, with him earning a €1.5million salary as a member of BVB.

However, new reports have surfaced that Thomas Doll is keen on one of his former players that he coached during his time at Hamburg — Piotr Trochowski. Dortmund could buy Trochowski straight up, or a possible trade involving Steven Pienaar could take place.

Either way, it seems as if one of the two aforementioned players will be soon plying their trade at the Westfalenstadion next season. But who?

Doesn’t Petric play up front? I’m fairly sure he’s a striker or withdrawn forward. Either way, I think he’s your best bet. He’s had a good goalscoring record at Basel, though I think he’s a bit slow.

And glad to have you at the offside, we need more Bundesliga reps.
