Wörns named BVB captain

By: Steven | July 10th, 2007

Kicker has reported that Thomas Doll has named Christian Wörns captain of Borussia Dortmund. Wörns was informed of Doll’s decision after a recent training session. Sebastian Kehl will serve as assistant captain.

As stated in the article, Alex Frei was being rumored to take over the captaincy, but Doll has said that the Swiss sensation will have enough pressure on him already. Whatever. It doesn’t really matter to me.

Also, Dortmund have their second preseason friendly tonight against Young Boys Bern. The team will still be without Frei, who is continuing on his road to recovery. He should be joining up with the team in the near future. More news on this as the final result comes in.
