

Timo Hildebrand?
By: Tucker | November 18th, 2008BVB management has went out of its way to deny reports that they are talking to former VfB Stuttgart ‘keeper Timo Hildebrand who is presently playing for La Liga’s Valencia. Media reports today suggested that BVB CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke allegedly met with him but the club firmly denies taking place.

Muy interesante. I’d have put my money on him heading back to Stuttgart, since Lehmann isn’t getting any younger. But then, perhaps he burned his bridges in 2007.

He would be a really good fit there. Obviously, he needs to be on the field if he has any ambition about getting back onto the national squad, and I’m sure he’d like to be on the field, period, and it doesn’t appear that’s going to happen at Valencia. I think he would compliment a young backline quite well, allowing for some points to be picked up while the defenders are still developing.

Isn’t he on free agent now as well? I think this would be good for BvB. I’m not sure that Stuttgart would even be an option for him, but the BvB would be a good fit.
