no discipline needed with Kevin-Prince Boateng

By: Tucker | February 9th, 2009

Early in Sundays loss to Bayern München, Kevin-Prince Boateng was accused of stamping Miroslav Klose. While referee Michael Kempter did not consider it an intent to injure, Franz Beckenbauer blew up and called it a “disgrace.”

Kicker said of the matter:
“To accuse him of intent or malice, like Franz Beckenbauer on Prince, is totally absurd. An inept attempt to revive the negative clichés about Boateng.”

Deutscher Fußball-Bund (DFB) spokesperson Klaus Koltzenburg closed the situation off stating:

“The disciplinary body is not going to act since video footage doesn´t show any intent.”

As a Bayern fan, I don’t think he intended to stamp on Miro so hard, either. It certainly looked like it hurt, though.
