Dortmund thrash FC Tuggen
By: Steven | July 17th, 2007
Borussia Dortmund notched their third win of the pre-season with a 8-0 victory against Swiss side FC Tuggen.
Ebi Smolarek and Nelson Valdez (!) each scored twice for BVB, with Christian Wörns, Sebastian Kehl, Philipp Degen, and Kuba also finding the back of the net.
Thomas Doll fielded two completely different teams in each half, with three of the eight goals coming in the first half. Valdez opened the scoring in the 10th minute and also made it 2-0 on 32 minutes. Wörns ended the first-half scoring in the 38th.
The second half scoring didn’t start until the 68th minute, when Kuba found the back of the net. Smolarek made it 5-nil in the 77th, Degen added his in the 83rd, and Smolarek secured his brace three minutes from time.
This is very good stuff from BVB. The loss against Young Boys certainly sucked from a fan’s point of view, but two 8-0 wins (against Witten and Tuggen), plus a 2-1 win over Anderlecht are certainly enough for me.
The friendly means that Dortmund have wrapped up their Lake Zurich training camp. We’re getting closer and closer to Duisburg now…

Wow, Nelson Valdez scoring goals. Something is definitely going the right way at Dortmund atm.
I read an interesting article about Dortmund’s preseason preparation.
Seems Doll is really pushing his players and also plans to install a sophisticated monitoring system to get additional data of his players during the season.
