Dortmund Delight: BVB 4-0 AS Roma
By: Steven | July 22nd, 2007
Ah, sweet victory (not that I’m rubbing it in, Chris). In case you missed it, Borussia Dortmund beat AS Roma 4-0 today in a pre-season friendly at the Westfalenstadion.
Kuba got things rolling for Dortmund in the 10th minute to make it 1-0. The re-named Pole then assisted on Diego Klimowicz’s goal to double the lead eleven minutes later. Incredibly, Nelson Valdez (yes, that Nelson Valdez) then scored twice — on 64 and 80 minutes — to make it a resounding 4-0 win for BVB.
This is a great win for Dortmund. Granted, this was Roma’s first pre-season friendly compared to our fifth, but it’s nice to beat a quality opponent instead of beating up on the FSV Wittens and FC Tuggens of the world.
And thanks to a kind reader of this blog, highlights of the match can be found here.
Great stuff, Dortmund. I’m on cloud nine.

Fantastic result. I hope you can find some video highlights.
Nelson Valdez starts to scare me. Two against Tuggen, two against Roma. Where will it end?
I wonder whether the Tuggen players take any form of consolation from the fact that they only suck twice as bad as AS Rome.

Wow that’s quite an impressive result. Renamed Pole though? I can only think of Ebi Smolarek and that Blasykowski guy? Which one is it?

the highlights here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDuk3gMpz68honestly, blaszczykowski (i think this dutch striker from celtic got longer family name, and it matched on the shirt, they just made the letters on the sign tighter or somthng) will be bvb investment for years.

The two Nelson Valdez goals were quite nice. He has probably taken a turn for the better.

Thanks for the highlights. I was at work so I wasn’t able to do any searching. Valdez scoring is a much welcomed change. Hopefully he keeps it up.
As for Kuba, I think he’s been our best signing this off-season hands down. He’s got potential to do great things in Dortmund.
