choices for DFB Cup coming soon
By: Tucker | January 24th, 2009The long winter break is (finally) coming to a close with BVB facing Werder in the DFB Cup next week. Despite the recent draw against Eintracht Braunschweig, it has been a solid training period for Jürgen Klopp’s club. Over the last three friendlies, it is very obvious Kevin-Prince Boateng is ready for an everyday starting position and a part of BVB’s future.
However of the disappointing friendly Jürgen Klopp discussed some of the problems:
“The ball was given away too easily, allowing our opponents into the game. He also saw an ‘interesting’ mistake before the 1-1. All are standing behind the ball. With a pass we could play straight through our midfield. You just can´t leave a central defender stranded like this. I don´t know if it was a foul, but the whistle was blown.
“I wanted to see if things go better in the second half.” So there´s still a fierce competition for the places. “I don´t have to make a decision before Wednesday. A lot can happen until then. We have found our rhythm. It was important that Kevin Boateng played three games now.”
There are a host of rumours right now circulating of the club, much to do with Alexander Frei however nothing that can be validated. The club is not inclined to offer him on loan but that could change in the last week of the transfer window.
