Smolarek, Kehl, Weidenfeller updates

By: Steven | Comments 2 Comments

It’s official: Ebi Smolarek is now a member of Racing Santander. The transfer fee was actually less than I originally reported, as the two clubs came to an agreement at €4million. This, unfortunately, only sees BVB pocketing €2million. The other half will be sent to Feyenoord Rotterdam.
In other news, Westline is reporting that Sebastian Kehl […]

Smolarek shipped to Santander

By: Steven | Comments 9 Comments

If you believe Kicker, that is. According to them, Dortmund have agreed to sell Ebi Smolarek to La Liga side Racing Santander for €5million. However, BVB will only be able to pocket half of that, as Smolarek’s former side — Feyenoord Rotterdam — are guaranteed the other half per Smolarek’s contract.
According to the local Spanish […]

Borussia Dortmund are set to capture the signature of 18-year old Bulgarian midfielder Alexandrov. Alexandrov, a current member of CSKA Sofia, is expected to sign on with the club on Wednesday.

Rumor Mill: Newcastle now after Dede

By: Steven | Comments 1 Comment

After AS Roma completely blew their chance, Newcastle United are now believed to be after the services of Dede. That is, if you believe FansFC, who say that Sam Allardyce is “keen” to sign the Brazilian.
Again, Dortmund won’t sell Dede for anything less than €10million. This is where Roma blew it. They were offering only […]

Roundup: Dede will stay & another friendly win

By: Steven | Comments 2 Comments

Sorry Roma fans, but Michael Zorc has extinguished any and all rumors of a potential Dede transfer to AS Roma. Apparently Roma were offering well below what Dortmund were looking for (€10million was the magic number), and as a result, all contact between the two clubs has been broken off.
In other news, Dortmund finished up […]

By: Steven | Comments No Comments

Now Westline is getting in on the Pienaar-to-Everton story. According to them, Dortmund have indeed been negotiating a deal with the Toffees to send Pienaar to the Liverpool club on a one-year loan deal with an option to buy. They also give a quote from Michael Zorc confirming this to be true.
UPDATE: Kicker is saying […]

Loan deals, new deals, and no deals

By: Steven | Comments 2 Comments

As I stated at the bottom of one of my last posts, Dortmund would consider loaning out Nuri Sahin only “if everything fits exactly”. Well, apparently “everything fits exactly” in Rotterdam, as Sahin will be joining up with axed-last-year BVB coach Bert van Marwijk on a one-year loan deal. I like this move a lot. […]

According to Setanta Sports, Borussia Dortmund “appear to be in pole position” to sign Souleymane Diawara from relegated EPL side Charlton.
“There is a real interest from Dortmund,” said Roger Boli, Diawara’s agent. “Souleymane could be interested to join them and play in the Bundesliga.”
This should be interesting. This is the first I’ve heard of the […]

Kovač on board as Rozehnal deal falls through

By: Steven | Comments No Comments

First off, I am back. Sorry for the inactivity around here.
While I was gone, Borussia Dortmund backed out in the race to David Rozehnal’s signature, and instead signed Croatian international Robert Kovač on a free transfer from Juventus. He has signed a two year contract with us.
“I am delighted about the challenge ahead and am […]
