Weidenfeller suspended, fined over comments

By: Steven | Comments 8 Comments

Although he has been cleared of allegations of making racist comments towards Gerald Asamoah, Roman Weidenfeller has still been suspended for three matches and fined 10,000 euros by the DFB for other comments made towards the Schalke midfielder.
“We accepted the punishment because Weidenfeller used words you should not use that way”, BVB Director of Sport [...]

Smolarek, Kehl, Weidenfeller updates

By: Steven | Comments 2 Comments

It’s official: Ebi Smolarek is now a member of Racing Santander. The transfer fee was actually less than I originally reported, as the two clubs came to an agreement at €4million. This, unfortunately, only sees BVB pocketing €2million. The other half will be sent to Feyenoord Rotterdam.
In other news, Westline is reporting that Sebastian Kehl [...]

You’re not gonna believe this…

By: Steven | Comments No Comments

… but my dish reception went out JUST before the match was about to start. Therefore, I have no idea what happened and I have to wait another five hours before I can see the replay.
Yeah. It sucks.

Injuries stacking up for Dortmund

By: Steven | Comments 5 Comments

Just as it appeared as if he was blazing the comeback trail, Alex Frei has been hit with a torn calf muscle that is expected to keep him out an additional three weeks. The earliest the team expects him to be back is the September 14th match against Werder Bremen.
Sebastian Kehl is also in a [...]

Guess who’s back, back again…

By: Steven | Comments 3 Comments

Alex Frei is back. And it’s about time.
In a friendly match (staged for charity) against DJK Greven, Frei scored two goals in a 8-0 Borussia Dortmund win. Hey, atleast we’re awesome at beating up on crappy teams throughout Germany (but when it comes to world powers like MSV Duisburg, we’re helpless…).
Florian Kringe got things rolling [...]

Roundup: Dede will stay & another friendly win

By: Steven | Comments 2 Comments

Sorry Roma fans, but Michael Zorc has extinguished any and all rumors of a potential Dede transfer to AS Roma. Apparently Roma were offering well below what Dortmund were looking for (€10million was the magic number), and as a result, all contact between the two clubs has been broken off.
In other news, Dortmund finished up [...]

Roma target Dede as Chivu replacement

By: Steven | Comments 4 Comments

You’ve got to be kidding me. As was brought to my attention by Chris (sorry, buddy — the half eaten box of milk duds was tempting, but you know…), Luciano Spalletti and AS Roma have lined up our very own Dede as the replacement to a one Mr. Christian Chivu — who has apparently moved [...]

Stuttgart Kickers 4:2 Borussia Dortmund

By: Steven | Comments 2 Comments

Well then. Dortmund has just lost 4:2 to Stuttgart Kickers two days after beating AS Roma 4:0. I’m having flashbacks to Young Boys right about now.
Apparently we fielded a pretty young squad though. Marc Ziegler was in goal (so that might have something to do with the four goals let up…), Florian Kringe was at [...]

Superleague Formula gets BVB-ed

By: Steven | Comments No Comments

If they can’t win the Bundesliga, maybe they’ll be able to tear it up on the race track.
Yes, Borussia Dortmund will now have their very own car in the Superleague Formula.
Unveiled by Thomas Doll and captain Christian Wörns, the BVB car is a slick-looking machine decked out in yellow and black (of course!). The club [...]

Dortmund Delight: BVB 4-0 AS Roma

By: Steven | Comments 6 Comments

Ah, sweet victory (not that I’m rubbing it in, Chris). In case you missed it, Borussia Dortmund beat AS Roma 4-0 today in a pre-season friendly at the Westfalenstadion.
Kuba got things rolling for Dortmund in the 10th minute to make it 1-0. The re-named Pole then assisted on Diego Klimowicz’s goal to double the lead [...]
